Well, what do we have here? Last we heard about the Canon EOS 60D it was just a twinkle in our articulating screen of a peripheral vision. And now it’s official — my, how times have changed. Here’s what we know about the 50D successor (with definite nods to the Rebel T2i‘s feature set): the [...] Loaning out your precious DSLR to a friend who doesn’t know shutter from aperture? Got a classroom full of trainee photographers whose lesson requires they be set to a particular mode? Canon’s hoping you’ll drop an extra 9 on a version of the critically-acclaimed EOS 7D that lets you control how your lackeys fire [...] We’ve heard some Canon EOS 60D rumors before, but this one might just be the most convincing yet — the as-yet-unannounced camera recently turned up in a roadmap that wasn’t leaked but actually posted on the site of optics module manufacturer DxO. As you might have guessed, all mentions of the camera have now been [...] “Fixes a phenomenon in which the set aperture moves when shooting movies in manual exposure mode using some Canon lenses (such as macro lenses).” If you’ve got a 5D Mark II, 1D Mark IV, or Rebel T2i handy and have been keeping its firmware fresh, that phrase should be all too familiar; all three [...] What a way to celebrate 25 years of the Handycam brand, right? Out of absolutely nowhere, Sony has just upended the entire prosumer camcorder universe, and it may very well sway you from purchasing that Canon EOS 7D for video purposes.
